This year, I felt privileged to help several authors develop a manuscript or publish a book, working in genres from adult fiction and sci-fi to nonfiction and children’s literature. What good fun for me!
I helped David Doyon, a friend from 40 years ago, publish his book, “Robbie Raccoon and Blackbear the Pirate’s Golden Treasure,” illustrated by David’s niece, Valerie Doyon, and it is currently in several libraries and in high demand in Valerie’s region.
I also edited my nephew’s book, “Frostfall Rise of the Wokai,” a sci-fi thriller, and was thrilled to learn there is another writer in the family. He is talented and very driven. We are gearing up to enter the design process. I’m sure his book will be ready next year.
I also continued to work with an author on her memoir, which we expect will be out in June 2026, so stay tuned because it is raw and emotional, inspiring, and laugh-out-loud funny at times.
Most recently, I began work on a memoir with a retired corporate guru, and I’m thoroughly enjoying helping him to shape his manuscript. I expect his book—focused on his early life, career, family, travels, and philanthropy—will be out early in 2026.
I am grateful to these writers who trust me with their work and their inner thoughts.
My own writing life advanced in 2025 as well. I finished my book, “Yes. No. Maybe.” And I’m discerning what step is next for me. I had several hundred copies of a memoir I wrote printed in 2020, but thanks to COVID, I could not promote it; the copies languished in a closet. Over the past six months, though, I’ve been giving them away in Little Free Libraries, as I don’t expect to publish it.
Here’s to more literary pursuits in 2026.
