I was so pleased with the response I received after announcing the launch for Janice Beetle Books. Thank you for taking the time to review the website and offer congratulations. It means a lot to me, and it fueled my passion for this work and gave me affirmation that I am on the right path. (Or, the “write” path!)
What a thrill it was to see some purchases from the Shop in the days since and to speak to a woman who learned about the new business from her husband, who saw the link on Facebook. She has a manuscript that is nearly complete and is considering the idea of working with me.
Over the weekend, I also received phone calls from two people who want help with a book. This means that, by fall, I could be working on multiple client manuscripts. Now that is just awesome.
Please, continue to share links on social media and spread the word. That’s so helpful to me; seeing those Shares makes me feel so grateful!
I enjoy helping people bring a book idea to the marketplace because I believe that everyone has a story to tell and should be able to give it a voice and be heard.
Next week, I will tell you about the book I wrote with Peter Cichon of South Hadley. An anxiety he experienced while working at an airline in the early 2000s gnawed at him for many years. His therapist finally told him he should write a book. Peter used Google to search for “book editor in Western Massachusetts” and found Fran Fahey, who referred Peter to me.
I have spent the past four-ish years writing Flight of Integrity for and with Peter, and, last week, we gave Levellers Press in Amherst, Massachusetts, the go ahead to print! It was a moment that made me proud and excited for what is yet to come.
For Peter, having his story in written form feels like freedom from a weight that nearly crushed him. It feels like “having his day in court,” as he has told me many times.
Please tune in next week to read more about Flight of Integrity. I expect at that time I’ll be able to offer a link to purchase it through Levellers Press.
In October, Peter and I will host an event in the region, and we hope you can come!
